Oyster capitol of Sweden

Grebbestad is famous for its wild and unique oysters. Most of the world have farmed oysters but here you will find them in the wild. It is much thanks to our cold and crystal clear ocean. Grebbestad is considered the capitol of oyster in Sweden and has delivered oysters since 17th century. More than 90 percent of Swedish oysters come from this area and it is also the home of the Swedish Oyster Academy.

We are happy to teach you what we know about this local delicacy; the history, the facts, how to open it safely, where it grows and how to best eat it. The oyster is served with a selection of different taste enhancers, bread and non-alcoholic sparkling wine. If the weather permits we are happy to combine the oyster tasting with a boat trip above and the wild oyster banks.
